Yep free! Well the Beta version is anyway. If you’re looking to buy Office 2007 then you should seriously consider the 2010 Beta as an alternative. It’s free until October 2010 and it’s very likely the full retail version will be released by then.
What is beta?
Beta is the pre-release version of the software where the public have essentially become software testers. The public benefit from free software for a year while Microsoft can iron out those nasty bugs before releasing the product offiicially. This comes after great success in releasing Windows 7 beta and avoids the same mistakes made with Vista.
